Children and Families Worker

The Archway Trust is seeking a Children and Families worker. Archway works alongside the Anglican Churches in Ashton, Roade, Courteenhall and Hartwell, together with the Methodist Church in Roade to share the Good News of Jesus with children and families.

This is a part time post. 15 hours/2 days per week. Flexibility of hours is required.
Starting salary will be £9,810 per annum (£24,525 full-time equivalent)

Bicester Methodist Church - Mission Enabler

Jesus wants his love and good news to be shared with everyone, and we believe that includes right here in Bicester!

Our church is ideally situated right in the town centre. We want to reach out to the community around our church, and to make the most of the mission opportunities offered by the rapid expansion of Bicester.

We are therefore looking to appoint a MISSION ENABLER

Do you have the vision and passion to join us at this exciting time in our Church life?

Can you help us to:

  • identify and respond to the needs of our community?
  • grow and develop our mission activities?
  • encourage our members to live out and share their faith in practical ways?

You will work with our minister and leadership team to implement the church’s growth plan, building on existing relationships with individuals and organisations in Bicester. This is a new post and we would love to talk to you to about your ideas for how you could help us best meet the needs of our community. The Covid-19 pandemic has delayed the advertisement of this post, but we have been encouraged by the many new ways of meeting as Christians and opportunities to serve others which have emerged over the past year.

The post is offered for between 21 and 30 hours per week and the salary will be £10.40 per hour (i.e. up to a maximum of £16,224 per annum based on 30 hours a week, or pro rata).

The post will be available to start from 1 September 2021. It is a fixed term post for three years, with the possibility of extension subject to securing further grant funding.

The closing date for applications is Monday 26 April 2021.

Interviews are expected to be held on Friday 7th May or Saturday 8th May 2021.

An enhanced DBS check will be required.
There is a genuine occupational requirement that you should be an active committed Christian.

The Methodist Homestead Charitable Trust -

Warden and Site Supervisor/Gardener

The Methodist Homestead Charitable Trust operates 24 independent living almshouse cottages in Northampton providing a small ecumenical Christian community for those of retirement age in its own peaceful grounds; personal and nursing care are not provided by the charity.

The Trustees are seeking to fill two vacancies that will be created when the current job holders retire in May 2021 for:

A Warden who will be a caring, flexible person providing support and assistance to our residents.  The role will be part time 24 hours a week and whilst a first-floor flat offering 2-bedroom accommodation is provided, the Trustees will consider applicants who live locally and wish to remain in their own home.  Preference is for a car owner/driver.  Experience in a caring profession would be an advantage.

A Site Supervisor/Gardener who will be a caring and flexible person to look after the communal gardens and grounds and carry out basic maintenance jobs in the homes.  The role will be part time 20 hours a week although some flexibility will be needed as work varies depending on the season.  Experience of working with the elderly and health and safety awareness is essential.

DBS checks will be carried out for these roles.
